Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi celebrated at GNKCW

Under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, the Department of Political Science and NSS Unit of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana observed Gandhi Jayanti in the college campus today. This event commemorated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, and celebrated his contributions to India’s freedom movement. The observance featured a thought-provoking lecture titled “Role of Gandhi Ji in the Freedom Movement”, delivered by Lt. Sukhjit Kaur, the Head of the Department of Political Science. The lecture provided insights into Gandhi’s philosophy and strategies during the freedom struggle.
Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon, in her address, highlighted the significant contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, reflecting on his ideals of non-violence and civil disobedience. She also stressed the importance of ‘swachhata’ (cleanliness), which was one of Gandhi Ji’s prime agendas, urging students to embrace these values in their daily lives to contribute to a cleaner and more responsible society.
