World First-Aid Day Observed at GNKCW

Under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, the Red Ribbon Club and NCC Unit of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, Ludhiana, marked World First-Aid Day with an event aimed at raising awareness among students about the importance of first aid in daily life.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Ms. Daisy Wadhwa, and Lt. Sukhjit Kaur, who emphasized the critical role of first aid in emergency situations, highlighting how timely assistance can save lives. They also informed the students about the basic principles of first aid and the importance of being equipped with essential first-aid skills.
To enhance the learning experience, a series of First Aid training videos were screened, demonstrating various techniques and procedures for handling common emergencies such as cuts, burns, fractures, and cardiac arrest. The visual demonstrations were well-received by the students, who showed great enthusiasm in learning these vital skills.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon stated, "First Aid is an essential life skill that every individual should possess. Through initiatives like this, we aim to foster a sense of responsibility and preparedness among our students, equipping them to respond effectively in times of need."
