 Poster Making Competition on ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’ held at Gcg, Ludhiana

Manojigyasa Society of Psychology Students of Govt. College for Girls, Ludhiana organized a poster-making competition on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day around the theme of the year, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”. The esteemed Principal of the college, Mrs. Suman Lata, presided over the function. The event provided a platform for students to express their ideas and perspectives on combating stigma and fostering an environment of empathy and understanding, to encourage everyone to start the conversation on suicide and suicide prevention. The dignitaries were accorded a floral welcome by Dr. Sumeet Brar (HOD, Psychology Department) and Mrs. Umang Bharti (Assistant Professor, Psychology Department). The Competition was judged by Mrs. Mandeep Kaur (HOD, Fine Arts Department) and Mr. Parveen Kumar (Assistant Professor, Fine Arts Department). Mehak Sahi secured first position,  Sunidhi got second, Vidhi Kaushal won third, and a consolation prize was given to Harmanjot Kaur. On this occasion, the installation ceremony of the Psychology Society members for 2024-25 session was also held. Maleeza (President), Bhavleen Kaur (Vice President), Deeya Dhawan (General Secretary), Ananya Madaan (Joint Secretary), and Harneet Kaur (Treasurer) were elected as executive members. The College Principal, Mrs. Suman Lata, appreciated the efforts put up by the students of the Psychology Department.
