According to the IAF, the mishap occurred due to a technical malfunction. The aircraft had departed from an IAF base in Rajasthan. The ammunition involved, known as 'air stores' in IAF terminology, can include guided missiles or bombs. An investigation into the incident has been launched by the IAF.
