Voting has started for the first phase of the Assam Assembly elections. Voting has started for a total of 47 seats in the first phase. There will be voting on these seats from 7 am to 6 pm. The fate of a total of 295 candidates is at stake in the first phase.
Let us know that 295 candidates are in the fray for the
first phase voting to be held in 47 seats. A total of 269 candidates had filed
nominations for the first phase, out of which 10 candidates had their papers cancelled,
while 16 had withdrawn nominations. Of these 269 candidates, 13 are women
candidates.
Votes will be cast in three phases in Assam and the
results will be announced along with West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and
Puducherry on 2 May. In Assam, polling will be held on March 27 on 47 assembly
seats in the first phase of the state, April 1 on 39 assembly seats under the
second phase and on April 6 on 40 assembly seats under the third and final
phase.
