National Nutrition Month was observed by conducting a Guest lecture on Nutritional Screening and Assessment sessions.
In view of National Nutrition Month, the Department of Dietetics, DMC&H in association with IAPEN Ludhiana chapter and IDA Punjab Chapter conducted a session for Nursing Staff on Nutritional Screening and Assessment tools today in Dumra Auditorium, Ludhiana.

The speaker for the session was Dr Jaspreet Kaur, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Home Science, GCG, Ludhiana.
The event was inaugurated by Treasurer Sh Mukesh Verma, Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Faculty members from the Department of Dietetics DMC&H and Nursing staff of DMC&H also graced the occasion.
In his message, Sh Bipin Gupta, Secretary, of DMC&H Managing Society congratulated to the Department of Dietetics for conducting the insightful session. He stressed that it is very crucial to identify the patients who are malnourished to provide the best nutritional support for their speedy recovery.
Dr. G.S. Wander principal DMC&H emphasised the importance of Nutritional Screening and noted its dual benefits. Dr Jaspreet Kaur said that Nutritional Screening can be done by any healthcare professional, it serves as a valuable resource in clinical practice, aiding in the identification of nutritional deficiencies or needs.
Chief Dietitian Shaveta Batta also emphasized the significant role of nutritional assessment and timely intervention in reducing hospital stays and improving the overall well-being of patients by addressing nutritional issues early, ultimately contributing to more efficient recovery and better health outcomes.
